At RPM Pickleball, our goal has always been to build paddles that players can trust—today and in the future. As part of that commitment, we want to share an important update regarding the Friction Pro 16mm Elongated (V1) Paddle and how we’re supporting our original owners through the launch of our next generation of technology.
Why We’re Introducing the V2
The original RPM Friction Pro 16mm Elongated (V1) Paddle was designed to maximize performance under the standards in place at the time of its release. Recently, USA Pickleball announced an updated PBCoR (Paddle/Ball Coefficient of Restitution) limit, effective May 2026.
In response, we developed the Friction Pro 16mm Elongated V2 Paddle—a forward-looking update that aligns with future standards while retaining the core playability characteristics of the Friction Pro line. The V2 features a refined internal construction with an enhanced outer EVA foam ring, resulting in improved control while maintaining the familiar feel players expect.
Pricing Note: We are committed to keeping our high-performance technology accessible. The V2 will retail at $249.99, maintaining the same price point as the original Friction Pro 16mm Elongated (V1) Paddle.
Introducing the V2 Loyalty Program
To reward players who have already invested in RPM, we are introducing a limited-time V2 Loyalty Program exclusively for original V1 owners. Eligible customers will receive a one-time 50% discount code toward the purchase of a brand new Friction Pro 16mm Elongated V2 Paddle.

Eligibility Requirements
This program is reserved exclusively for the original owner who purchased a Friction Pro 16mm Elongated (V1) Paddle in brand new condition from RPM (rpmpb.com) or an authorized retailer before February 3, 2026.
Ineligible Purchases:

Used Condition: Any paddle purchased second-hand or through secondary markets (eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc.).

Demo Paddles: Paddles originally sold or distributed as demos are strictly ineligible.

Unauthorized Retailers: Purchases from retailers not officially authorized by RPM.

Post-Deadline Purchases: Any V1 purchased on or after February 3, 2026.
Shipping Policy
We want to make the transition to the V2 as seamless as possible. Please note the following shipping terms for orders placed using a Loyalty Program discount code:
- United States: We are pleased to offer Free Shipping on all Friction Pro 16mm Elongated V2 orders within the USA when using your loyalty code.
- International: Customers outside of the United States are responsible for all delivery costs, customs duties, and local taxes associated with their V2 order. These fees will be calculated at checkout or upon entry into your country.

Does this apply to all Friction Pro models?
No. This program and the upcoming regulatory changes specifically affect the Friction Pro 16mm Elongated (V1) Paddle. All other Friction Pro models remain legal for play under all current USA Pickleball standards and are not part of this loyalty program.
Is this a recall?
No, this is not a product recall. The Friction Pro 16mm Elongated (V1) Paddle remains legal for play under all current USA Pickleball standards until May 2026.
Do I need to return my V1 paddle?
No! You can keep your V1 for recreational play or practice. This program is a loyalty benefit to help you transition to the new standard at a significant discount.
What happens to my warranty?
All brand new purchases made before February 3, 2026, are covered under our standard policy. However, once the Friction Pro 16mm Elongated V2 loyalty code has been claimed or redeemed, the warranty on your original V1 paddle will be voided.
I lost my receipt. What do I do?
If you have misplaced your receipt, please reach out to your authorized retailer to obtain a reprint. A valid receipt or RPM order number is mandatory for verification.
